Received my bucket yesterday. Shipping was fast. As for the taste...Nasty would be an under statement. Cooked up the cheesy lasagna.
Has a very harsh chemical smell and taste. Also very over spiced with something. Left lingering burning sensation in mouth for several hours after eating.
This purchase was an expensive exercise but it has shown me that preparing our own food if possible is the way to go.
In closing...the remaining 83 servings will remain until needed. If food is scarce then this will at least help keep you alive.
Very disappointed. One suggestion would be to have a small sampler pack that is not so expensive

I bought the 60 entree bucket. Tried the creamy chicken pasta 2 days ago.
#1- Overly salted. If only this food is used to obtain the USDA 2000 calorie a day diet then sodium would be at 300% RDA.
#2- Package with 4 adult servings fed 3 adults with a medium sized bowl of food.
#3- I did not feel hungry again for 9 hours after eating. Big plus.
#4- Produces methane, keeps you warm. :)
#5- If this food is all you eat then based upon the USA RDA 2000 calorie diet and stated calories on pouches an adult would need to eat about 8 servings per day, not 3.
#6- Tastes great.
#7- Add a little more water then the 4 cups/pouch reccomended on pouch. Let stand a little longer then the 12-15 minutes stated, a few pieces of pasta were still a little chewy at 20 minutes.
#8- Excellent camping/backpacking food item. Excellent emergency convenience food, which is why I bought it. Only needs boiling water to use.
#9 I plan on using this as an adjunct food to my main food storage. However, I would feel comfortable using this product as a sole source of food in an emergency if necessary. Best to keep something to cut it with like rice to knock down the sodium.
#10- I was disappointed that the 25 year shelf life is only available if you can keep it stored at 50-55 degrees. Most people will only be able to manage 65-70 degree storage at best which knocks the shelf life down to maybe 18-20 years. If you have it in a storage room that hits 80+ in summer I wouldn't plan on more then 10-15 years at best.
#11- STRENGTH = CONVENIENCE & TASTE.
#12- I'll be checking back to make sure that this review has been posted and not edited to remove honest negatives. Thanks HG for providing a valuable food resource web site, and love your flat rate shipping. :)
