Honeyville Farms Pearled Barley also known as hulled barley is milled from selected varieties of premium quality barley. Known for its desirable flavor characteristics, Pearled Barley is one of the most palatable grains known to man. Produced at our own custom milling facilities, in a special proprietary “pearling” process, Honeyville's Pearled Barley meets “Table-Grade” quality standards established by the state of Utah.

Nutritional Information:

Pearled Barley is naturally cholesterol-free and low in fat. A 1/2-cup serving of cooked pearl barley, contains less than 1/2 gram of fat and only 100 calories. One-half cup of pearled barley flour, a typical amount used in baking, contains 7 grams of total dietary fiber. Pearled Barley contains both soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber is helpful in lowering blood cholesterol, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and may be effective in stabilizing blood glucose. Pearled Barley also contains antioxidants, which are also important for maintaining good health along with several vitamins and minerals including niacin (vitamin B3), thiamine (vitamin B1), selenium, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and copper.

Product application:

May be used in soups and cereals of all kinds, or ground into a healthy and flavorful addition for improved texture in multi-grain breads and rolls.
