Honeyville's Cracked Wheat is made from whole grain hard red wheat. Honeyville's special triple cleaning process produces the highest quality Cracked Wheat available to consumers for long-term storage. Our wheat products are milled and processed exclusively at our Honeyville milling facilities to the “Table-Grade” quality standards established by the state of Utah. Our Cracked Wheat is rich in protein, vitamins, and other nutrients and is a healthy source of soluble bran fiber. Honeyville Cracked Wheat is an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Cracked Wheat will store for 1 year in a sealed 50 pound bag under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place).
Instructions: For hot cereal, add 1 part cracked red wheat to 4 parts boiling water. Add a pinch of salt for flavor. Cover pan and simmer 25 to 30 minutes, stirring gently and serve.
Uses: Cracked Wheat is used to make wholesome oatmeal that’s rich in flavor and nutrients. It may also be used as a healthy replacement for multi-grain breads and rolls that call for cracked wheat.

We have been using cracked wheat from several sources in the past. We stumbled on Honeyville through a Google search back in 2008. We bought the 50 lb bag and have been very happy with the quality and price. The product has great flavor and cooks up consistently in our preparations.
We use it to make everything from the "Taboli" salad to ethnic desserts. We even use it most of the time as a substitute for cooked rice and it tastes great not to mention more nutritious.
I also found an added benefit of maintaining my weight by using this product in place of our traditional rice in most of my diet. I will continue to use use this product unless I find something far superior.
