Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product using a very low temperature and a vacuum. Only about 3 percent moisture remains in the product
at the time of packaging. The end product weight is reduced by over 90 percent, while the volume stays the same. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh taste, natural color, and texture of apples.
When rehydrated, the product will absorb the liquid and resemble fresh apples once again. The taste is great, and the nutritional value is preserved. Freeze drying provides natural and additive
free fruits to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples are an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Freeze Dried Apples will store for 10 to 15 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once
opened, it has an average shelf life of 12 to 18 months.
Instructions: Add 3 parts water to 1 part apple. Allow Freeze Dried Apples to hydrate for about 20 minutes or until fully rehydrated. Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples can replace fresh prepared apples at a rate of 9 to 1. That means that each can of Freeze Dried Apples is the equivalent of about 6.75 pounds of fresh apples.
Uses: Freeze Dried Apples can be added directly to your favorite yogurts, oatmeals, or cereals. They can also be rehydrated in fruit recipes or eaten right out of the can as a healthy snack.

Packaging: Freeze Dried Apples are sealed air tight in a #10 can and weighs approximately 12 ounces. A case contains 6 #10 cans and weighs 4.5 pounds.
Each can contains 32 servings. One serving size is ¼ cup. Once rehydrated, a serving size comes out to about 2/3 cup.

Tasty; quite tart

Most freeze dried apples I have had have been very sweet. These are very different -- they have the tart taste of a granny smith. I like the sweet ones, too, but they are really only good for snacking as-is. This is a nice change of pace and works better for putting in things like oatmeal.

like the blueberries i add these also to my oatmeal while its rehyd. extra water makes everything plump up and creamy and smooth. the great thing is the apples create an apple pie aroma in the kitchen and i only use about an 1/8 cup. the apples are sweet and tart but not too tart. great prduct. with honeyville products i use only what i eat at the time so no waste. was also able to downsize to a 2.5 cubic freezerless fridge, energy saver, my electric bill has downsized also. thanks honeyville....

I love freeze dried apples but the ones I've had in the past were all thin slices. The size & texture ended up being more like potato chips. I was actually pleased to see that the Honeyville apples were chunks but I was disappointed in the texture. Unlike all of the other freeze dried products I've bought, these apples are not crunchy at all. They end up being somewhat chewy, but not chewy enough like dehydrated apples. I'm sure they'll be great in oatmeal but for snacking right out of the can I prefer some of the other fruits.

These apples are great. They are flavorful and perfect for an on the go snack. I often pack snack bags of Cheerios as an emergency stash for the kids when we are out and these apples have recently joined the stash. The diced size is great for toddlers and preschoolers.

These are hard to put away and not keep eating them out of the can. Surprised at how good freeze dried fruit is in general and impressed with these apples. I will be trying almost all of Honeyville's freeze dried fruits - awesome!
