Honeyville's Freeze Dried Bananas are light and crisp, while the flavors have the perfect balance of sweet and tart that only comes from the freshest bananas.
You can use them for any application that calls for bananas, including eating them right out of the can as a healthy snack. Honeyville's freeze dried bananas are great for pies, puddings, smoothies, toppings,
the possibilities are endless!
Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product using a very low temperature and a vacuum. Only about 3 percent moisture remains in the product
at the time of packaging. The end product weight is reduced by over 90 percent, while the volume stays the same. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh taste, natural color, and texture of bananas.
When rehydrated, the product will absorb the liquid and resemble fresh bananas once again. The taste is great, and the nutritional value is preserved. Freeze drying provides natural and additive
free fruits to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas are an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Freeze Dried Bananas will store for 5 to 10 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once
opened, it has an average shelf life of 12 to 18 months.
Instructions: Add 3 parts water to 1 part banana. Allow Freeze Dried Bananas to hydrate for about 20 minutes or until fully rehydrated. Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas can replace fresh prepared bananas at a rate of 4 to 1. That means that each can of Freeze Dried Bananas is the equivalent of about 3 pounds of fresh bananas.
Uses: Freeze Dried Bananas can be added directly to your favorite yogurts, oatmeals, or cereals. They can also be rehydrated in fruit recipes or eaten right out of the can as a healthy snack.

I used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, put them in the crisper, then remember two weeks later they were in there...and by that time were inedible. I've transitioned to frozen veggies, freeze dried veggies, and now freeze dried fruits.
These freeze dried bananas are full of flavor, sweet, good to eat right out of the can. I make a banana protein shake with them with milk and soy protein isolate, just as good as with fresh bananas, but no more waste!
My dogs even love the chips! I bought an entire case during the sale. These are a definite must have if you love bananas.

Much better than other brands

These don't stick to my teeth as much as the other brands I have tried and are fantastic -- flavorful and crunchy without being hard at all.
If you want to reconstitute, most FD fruits are not really like fresh but are at least toothsome. FD bananas turn to mush and will rapidly over saturate if you are paying attention. Even without over saturating them, they are still pretty mushy. Okay for baking, but other wise stick to eating them out of the can.

Much better than the regular dehydrated. We all love snacking on them straight out of the can, and I can only assume they'd work well in cereals, breads, etc.

I think the freeze dried bananas taste really ripe, or like banana pudding. They are good, but I prefer the dehydrated bananas for snacking. These are good used in banana breads & muffins. And in a pinch, they make a decent snack also.

Delicious - Sweet - Very Satisfying!

We've never rehydrated these - we just eat 'em straight out of the can, they're that good! Very sweet and flavorful, and they do an excellent job of satisfying my after-dinner sweet craving.
The only negative about the freeze dried bananas is that they get stuck in the chew surfaces of your teeth, so be sure to brush or chew gum after eating them!
