Honeyville's Freeze Dried Strawberries are light and crisp, while the flavors have the perfect balance of sweet and tart that only comes from the freshest strawberries.
You can use them for any application that calls for strawberries, including eating them right out of the can as a healthy snack. Honeyville's freeze dried strawberries are great for cereal, yogurt, salads, smoothies,
the possibilities are endless!
Honeyville Freeze Dried Strawberries are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product using a very low temperature and a vacuum. Only about 3 percent moisture remains in the product
at the time of packaging. The end product weight is reduced by over 90 percent, while the volume stays the same. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh taste, natural color, and texture of strawberries.
When rehydrated, the product will absorb the liquid and resemble fresh strawberries once again. The taste is great, and the nutritional value is preserved. Freeze drying provides natural and additive
free fruits to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Honeyville Freeze Dried Strawberries are an ideal product for long term food storage and emergency preparedness.
Shelf-Life: Freeze Dried Strawberries will store for 10 to 15 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once
opened, it has an average shelf life of 12 to 18 months.
Instructions: Add 3 parts water to 1 part strawberry. Allow Freeze Dried Strawberries to hydrate for about 20 minutes or until fully rehydrated. Honeyville Freeze Dried Strawberries can replace fresh prepared strawberries at a rate of 10 to 1. That means that each can of Freeze Dried Strawberries is the equivalent of about 3.75 pounds of fresh strawberries.
Uses: Freeze Dried Strawberries can be added directly to your favorite yogurts, oatmeals, or cereals. They can also be rehydrated in fruit recipes or eaten right out of the can as a healthy snack.

I mixed 1 cup of these strawberries with 1 cup of regular jam and added about 3/4 cup of water and poured into blender. Makes a syrupy jam with 50% less sugar. Taste is excellent.

my kids and I love these! when compared to the small packages you can get everywhere else, the price is vrey reasonable for the large can. They like to eat them straight out of the can. I add them to my GF LC hot cereal and to muffins and cupcakes. They are very tasty and so nicely crispy then melt in your mouth.

I have bought these to add to homemade trail mixes for my children to add some extra nutrition. They love these. I have had to try hard not to let them (or my husband) finish them in one sitting.

Love the berries

I originally sought out an online supplier of freeze dried strawberries after the local Trader Joe's stopped carrying them. So I went online and Googled freeze dried strawberries and Honeyville was one of the hits. That was probably 4/5 yrs ago and I've been ordering ever since. I originally bought Honeyville Strawberries because, while I liked the Special K Red berries cereal, I don't like the fact that it is a sweetened cereal and they aren't very generous with the amt of berries. I do, however, like Special K and other unsweetened cereals. So now I can add the amount of berries I like and know that the cereal I eat has less sugar.
They ARE expensive, but so worth it.
I find that during the MD humid summers they aren't "crispy" any more so as a routine practice, I've taken to keeping them in the freezer where it's a little drier. I've noticed lately that the plastic tops seem a little more brittle than they used to be and crack more easily. Might be my imagination.
I didn't care as much for the freeze dried peaches...maybe it's the format, but they never soften up. I wish they were thinly sliced instead of diced.
The blueberries are quite good, too.
All in all good products and the service is really great. I get the berries pretty quickly after I place my order.

they are way to expensive. However - they are so delicious and taste much better than a strawberry that has travelled in winter all the way from mexico. And we love the dust at the bottom of the can - we stirred it into homemade yogurt, to make the most divine strawberry yogurt. Yummmmmmo, but $$$$$$$$$ for a family of 6 that would go through a lare can in a week (or less)
