Honeyville's Star-Dri® Maltodextrin is an artificial sweetener that is ideal for maintaining viscosity and body in food products. Maltodextrin is classified as a complex carbohydrate and contains fewer calories than natural sugar. It is widely used in the food service industry from beverages and sports drinks to candies and dressings. Around the kitchen, maltodextrin is used to sweeten an array of items, including tea, coffee, shakes, smoothies and even homemade candy. This is good maltodextrin. I buy alot of this stuff for mixing into my whey shakes. Buying it this way saves a ton. It mixes smooth. You can fill 7 5lb protein jugs to the top. They also sell a 80% whey concentrate that I might try.

I use this product along with Dextrose for workouts because I bodybuild. Sure, this is an unexpected place to get "supplements" from, but why call it a supplement when it's just sugar? I'm not going to pay 5 bucks for a shiny label, so I come here where they sell it for great prices and even better shipping charges. This bag lasts at least 6 months, if not much longer. I will not know yet because I've just torn into it a few weeks ago! As for quality, I wouldn't know because I've never worked with Maltodextrin before, but it looks good to me and holds up to what I've read about it. Good job, guys.

Works great for making home-made energy drink mix. Dissolves easily, taste is neutral, can be blended with protein powder, great value. Comparable to high end brands (such as Hammer Products) that use the same main ingredient but cost $10/lb.
