Honeyville's Polydextrose is an economical synthetic form of glucose. It is used to replace sugar in products to make them sugar free, low fat and low in calories. Polydextrose can be part of a well-balanced, healthful diet while helping reduce calories and carbohydrates in prepared foods. This sweetener has been used safely in food for many years. The metabolism of polydextrose is similar to soluble fiber.
Shelf-Life: Polydextrose will store for 1 year in a sealed 5 pound bag under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place).
Uses: Polydextrose can be used as a sweetener replacement for products such as cookies, cakes, baked goods and more.
Packaging: Polydextrose in bulk is available in both a 5 pound bag and a 50 pound bag. Packaging may vary.

except for the fact that the price has increased in the last 6 years this is an excellent source of fiber I use it along with oat fiber flour and rice bran flour to make a breakfast scone which keeps everything moving along I assume it does all that is expected for fiber in my diet since I am a healthy 70 year old
