All of us are happy to find a product that makes life easier without forcing a compromise on quality. Honeyville's Powdered Egg Whites have been used commercially for years, but are now available for convenient home use. This versatile product now makes life easier for the baker at home, without compromising the quality of your finished bakery products.
Powdered egg whites have several advantages over fresh eggs. One 2.25 pound can of Powdered Egg Whites contains the equivalent of 255 Large Fresh Egg Whites. The difficulty in separating the yolk from the clear is eliminated. In recipes that call for egg whites, there is no waste in egg yolks. No more waiting for egg whites to come to room temperature. Eliminating waste and saving time are only a few of the advantage in using our product. The use of only the highest-grade eggs, and the pasteurization process removes any possibility of salmonella contamination. Because powdered egg whites do not need to be refrigerated after opening, they conserve energy and shelf space. If you are searching for ways to reduce fat and cholesterol in dishes traditionally calling for whole eggs, powdered egg whites make a healthy substitute. Each # 10 Can of Dehydrated Eggs contains 2.25 pounds of product. A #10 can measures 7 inches tall and is a little over 6 inches in diameter, or roughly the size of a large coffee can.

These egg whites are perfect for me. As I have the equivalent of a dozen scrambled egg whites for breakfast every morning. They are tasty with a little seasoning or with salsa, ketchup.....whatever you desire.
Much easier to make than normal whole eggs and you don't have to worry about wasting the yolk.
Love them

We bought these in a 6-combo. I tried hand-mixing them into one of those little 3-minute microwave chocolate cakes and they made it into a quasi angel food cake without any further fuss. They are definitely the real thing. We didn't buy more because we are not using them very quickly. I am considering trying them mixed with the whole egg for scrambling, to see if they will make the scrambled eggs hold together better. That would also dilute the cholesterol of the whole eggs.

I have made several batches of Almond Meringues and my husband has asked for more. The egg whites whip up great, especially with a KA. I have also used the egg whites in making homemade pizza crusts. I will definitely be buying this product in the future. It is a little tricky in mixing whites with water, but as long as it can be done in a mixer on a low setting until frothy, you have no problem with the end result.

Another good product. : )
I was recently on a zero carb/fat diet, and these suckers saved my mornings.
A suggestion for eating straight: Make them the night before, and vacuum seal them in a jar overnight - this will drastically reduce the 'whipped' effect you get from mixing the powder, and make a much more realistic end product.
(note: anyone with a FoodSaver or a hand held breakline vacuum pump ($20) can vacuum pack into standard glass jars (WITH SOME CAUTION! : ). Poke a hole in the lid with a thumbtack, put a 5mm square piece of anything smooth, sturdy, and totally flat (a bit of glass, plastic, or metal) and tape over the top of it. Poke a hole through a large suction cup to fit the vacuum tube tightly, and connect everything. Add in food, screw on lid, place suction cup on top and run: Viola - your powdered food will now last months or years longer in the freezer. : )

Gone are the days when you can buy really fresh eggs! I find when I buy "fresh" eggs they are rarely fresh. You know what I'm talking about. The whites run all over the frying pan instead of being firm, so you end up scrambling them instead. Finally I decided to try the freeze dried eggs. I'm really glad I did.
As you probably know, the news media has warned us about salmonella poisoning in raw eggs. With the freeze dried eggs and egg whites, I don't have to worry about the eggs being old or bacteria. These are pasteurized. I love that I can use the freeze dried egg whites in smoothies, make cakes or cookies and not worry about nibbling at the dough or licking the spoon.
Thanks, Honeyville!
