Each can contains 2.25 pounds of Pasteurized Powdered Whole Eggs.
Honeyville's Dried Whole Eggs are produced exclusively from fresh eggs harvested from chickens in the United States. The eggs are spray dried and pasteurized in the USA for optimal quality and safety.
Honeyville's Powdered Whole Eggs are produced though a special process designed to provide a free flowing powder that has been pasteurized for your safety. Originally developed for use in the military, our whole egg powder, when blended with water, reconstitutes into a product similar to fresh whipped eggs. These reconstituted eggs may then be used as a direct substitute for fresh eggs. One 2.25 pound can of Powdered Whole Eggs is equivalent to about 81 to 90 Large Fresh Whole Eggs. Our whole egg powder is non-perishable and requires no refrigeration and is ideal for camping, travel, and long-term food storage. This product may be stored for up to 12 months opened, and 5 to 10 years in airtight sealed cans.
Reconstitution Instructions:
To reconstitute one egg, mix 2 Tablespoons of powdered whole egg with 4 Tablespoons of water. Use for any recipe that calls for eggs. When using with other dry ingredients, it is not necessary to reconstitute egg. Simply add to other dry ingredients and increase water measurements in mixture to necessary amount.
Applications:
Spray dried whole eggs can be used in any application where fresh eggs are called for including scrambled eggs, omelets, and as a protein supplement in your favorite smoothie or health drink. Powdered eggs can be added to your favorite recipes with comparable results. Since powdered eggs have been pasteurized, there is no need to cook the product. Once a powdered egg has been rehydrated it should be treated as a fresh egg and used immediately. Dried eggs are great for camping, hiking, and survival preparation. The long storage life and ease of transport make dried eggs and egg whites ideal for outdoor preparation.
Storage:
Honeyville's Powdered Whole Eggs can be stored 5 to 10 years sealed and unopened, and up to 12 months opened. As always storage life is dependant on storage conditions. Always store food products in a cool, dry place for optimum storage life. Each # 10 Can of Dehydrated Eggs contains 2.25 pounds of product. A #10 can measures 7 inches tall and is a little over 6 inches in diameter, or roughly the size of a large coffee can.
Ingredients: Whole Eggs, less than 2% sodium silico aluminate (added as an anti-caking agent)

Tastes Nothing Like Scrambled Eggs

I bought these powdered eggs to use on my backpacking hikes. I read one review that said,"My husband couldn't tell the difference." Not true. I tried to cook them according to the directions and various other methods that I had found on the internet. Nothing I did to these powdered eggs made them edible (at least as scrambled eggs or omlets). Even with mixing them with other foods and condiments, I couldn't eat them. I am dissappointed in my purchase. Fair warning. If you intend to use them to cook scrambled eggs, don't waste your time or money.

Most people find powdered eggs pretty disgusting. I approached it with an open mind, having worked in the food industry, and also being aware that powdered egg product is in lots of mixes already. I was a little disappointed when I tried to make scrambled eggs with these, they are edible, but do not taste nearly as good as fresh eggs. The reconstituted egg is very watery, and doesn't fluff up at all when you cook it. That having been said I tried them in a pancake recipe and that worked great, so they are fine for baking as well. I don't use very many eggs, so I will definitely keep some of these around for all my shelf stable egg needs. Using them for scrambled eggs remains an emergency contingency however.

Have used these for several months. I really like them scrambled (just cook them a little longer if there is any water left in the pan). They work great in cookies, muffins, waffles, etc. Will be a staple in my pantry!

I am not sure how I like this or not. I have only used it as a dip for chicken so far. Is it supposed to be very watery? I expected it to be thicker for some reason.

Good product. Still experimenting with egg/water mix

I've been eating these for 2 weeks now. I still like them. However, I'm still experimenting with best way to mix, especially when I'm in a hurry. A blender works best, but a pain for small amounts. I'll look for my old hand "hurdy gurdy" mixer like people used to use before electric ones. These eggs work best when mixed VERY thoroughly before hitting the pan for scrambled eggs the way **I** like them :)
Still playing with mixing/cooking them to minimize the excess water when the eggs are cooked. I dump cooked eggs on a paper towel to blot up the water for now. Makes them MUCH better imo.
So I still like the eggs. These eggs and milk replacer are a staple part of my emergency rations.
