The Best Steel Cut Oats Money Can Buy!
Adam Vance (Greenwood, MO) 2/9/2013 12:26 PM
Honeyville Grain's Steel Cut Oats are amazing. The product comes fresh and flavorful to your door. If you have a rice cooker, fill it with your desired amount of steel cut oats, add an inch and a half of water above the level of the grain, and cook as you would regular rice. It comes out FANTASTIC!!! A little cinnamon, a splash of soymilk and maple syrup and you will be amazed. I will never eat rolled oats again!

First time I heard them called "survival food." I enjoy them almost every morning. My easy recipe: The night before, 1/4 cup in a bowl. 3/4 cup water. Place a plate over the bowl. Place in microwave for 2 minutes or less (depends on the power of your microwave). Leave there overnight. First thing when you get up in the morning, stir contents of bowl. Put some raisins in the mix. Cook for another 2 minutes. Go about preparing for your day and then the oats are perfect. Add yogurt, berries, a banana or whatever and enjoy a healthy breakfast!

Very nice!

For several years I have purchased steel cut oats in 24 ounce containers. I've tried all the brands carried locally: Quaker Oats, Bob’s Red Mill, and McCann’s Irish Oatmeal. Recently the price has been about $6.50 a package. So, the $63.50 I spent with Honeyville would have cost over $200 in any grocery store. Additionally, the quality of these oats is far superior to any I’ve ever purchased. They are the cleanest I have seen. You won’t be disappointed!

Good buy!

Fresher and cleaner than the tiny containers I paid top-dollar for at the local box store. If you love steel-cut oats and you have the space to store it, this is a great buy.

Bang for your Buc!

I purchase these 50lb bags often from Honeyville on a regular basis. Your money goes a long way buying any product in bulk from them. They have fast reliable, delivery, great products and affordable prices. Steel Oats are my favorite, let them soak in water an hour or two before I cook them, then use brown sugar, honey to add for flavor. Honeyville has high quality products like this, will never buy anywhere else.

so much better price and quality than Fresh Market!
brad (greenville, nc) 12/13/2011 7:19 PM
I paid less than $1 a pound for the Steel Cut Oats from you all, and compared to my local vendor for these, Fresh Market, there's just no comparison.

As an amateur bodybuilder I go through about six and a half pounds of these oats a week. Easily the most inexpensive and convenient way to get steel cut oats anywhere. You guys save me a fortune.

Great deal!
Vaerie (North Carolina) 7/16/2011 12:52 PM
I bought the 50lb bag and split it with a neighbor. What a great deal. I know she was paying $7+ for that Irish one in the grocery store and I was paying $1.39-$1.49lb in the bulk section. I have used 5 lbs so far and they are perfect!

Cookiing Steel Cut Oats
Peter Marks (California) 5/11/2011 4:25 PM
I buy the 50 Lb. sack of steel cut oats and when I cook them I cook three cups of oats and 6 cups of water in a large pot on medium heat until the oats are firm and the water has been absorbed by the oats. When the oats have cooled I place them in a quart size plastic container which I keep in the referigator and eat for breakfast every day. All I need to do is spoon out the amount I want into a bowl and add raisins or dried apricots and put the bowl in the microave for 3 minutes. Then I sprinkle ground cinnamon on the top and mix vanilla rice milk, which I buy at Trader Joe's, with it and enjoy a breakfast that lasts until lunch. Steel cut oats are the most healthy oats for one to eat and when I first tried them I got hooked on them and won't eat rolled oats again. I have found Honeyville Farms to have the highest quality steel cut oats on the market and it isn't worth it to me to buy from anyone else because nobody has met the high quality standards of steel cut oats sold by Honeyville Farms. It is worth it to pay the cost as one won't find any steel cut oats of such high quality being sold by anyone else at a reasonable price than that being offered by Honeyville Farms.

Best tasting oats!!!
Victor (California) 3/14/2011 6:56 PM
I buy these oats by the sack, they are amazingly good. I read how people cook them and add all kinds of stuff to them but in reality these oats are delicious by themselves. I prefer mine straight up, with just water, I just grind mine a little bit more so they have a more Quacker oats flavor and consistency.

steel cut oats
Deb (Mt.) 8/9/2010 4:38 PM
I put steel cut oats in my timed rice cooker every night, and set timer for breakfast, perfect every time, 1 part oats to 3 parts water, I also add a little coconut oil, and frozen or dried fruit. We sometimes sprinkle ground flax on it when served. We like it with a little milk and honey added to it when served.

Great Breakfast Cereal!
Deb (Issaquah, WA) 2/20/2010 8:21 PM
I make up enough to take into work for the entire week, and add some with fruit (peaches, strawberries, blueberries all work great!), flax seed, soy or rice milk! And sometimes chopped nuts and dried cranberries. Super yummy, great texture. For any of the bulk products, I order the 50 lbs and put it in gallon ziploc bags, freeze for a day or two, then store in coolers in the garage, and bring in as needed. Excellent product!

We have been buying these for the past few months. Our family of 5 has these for breakfast every morning Monday through Saturday. Our preferred method of preparation is to put the oats, water, sea salt, and raisins (if desired) in a covered pan at night before going to bed, giving the oats time to soak up some water so cooking doesn't take so long in the morning. Three of us like the oats with brown sugar and peanut butter, and two prefer with brown sugar and chopped walnuts. All of us like some smart balance (or your preferred butter product). Steel cut oats are good for us and this bag makes them very affordable. As I said, we have these 6 days a week, and we have not yet grown weary of them! I'm getting ready to order our third bag since September 2009.

Great Shipping .... Great Product!!!
Tom (New York) 12/15/2009 11:39 PM
I was really worried about shipping such a product. However, I was relieved when I saw UPS drive up and the 50 lb bag was in a box. The order shipped without any issues and the bag was in PERFECT condition. Also the Steel Cut Oats tastes GREAT!!! What a great buy. To cook on the stove: 1) 1 part oats to 2 parts water, i.e. 1/2 cups of oats. 1 cup of water. (optional: ½ cup water, ½ milk) 2) 1/8 teaspoon of salt or less (this is a must). 3) cook on medium heat so that the oats have time to thoroughly cook. 4) add sugar and any other toppings such as nuts, cinnamon, fruit, etc.

Great Buy
Steven (North Carolina) 3/5/2009 6:19 AM
I used to buy Quaker Steel Cut oats after the cheaper competition was dropped from our local store but didn't like the price. I bought this 50 lb bag which cost only 1/3 the price of the Quaker oats based on a per lb price. The taste and texture is perfect and the packaging and shipping time was superb. I was surprised to see the location of the milling company that packaged the oats, because my grandfather farmed less than 2 hours away (40 years ago). It is in the heart of great grain country!

Oatmeal I can eat
Sarah (California City) 2/3/2009 8:33 PM
The texture of rolled oats did not agree with me. I love these though! We cook a large batch on Sunday and put it in the fridge. Everyone eats them for breakfast during the week - just put in microwave for 2 minutes. We add the freeze dried rasberries or strawberries. Yummy!! Even the 3 year old asks for it!

Awesome breakfast
Elizabeth (Baltimore, MD) 1/20/2009 6:40 AM
Our whole family eats these steel cut oats every morning. We wouldn't go back to cereal or rolled oats ever again! Great topped with pecans, flax seed meal, and honey (the kids love strawberries or raisins).

Great Oats!

Very similar to the expensive oats you can buy in a tin but MUCH cheaper. Delicious cooked in the crockpot overnight or ground and made into oatmeal cinnamon pancakes.

STEEL CUT OATS
Anonymous (Unknown) 6/26/2008 1:26 PM
Go back to basics and have steel cut oats for breakfast and loose weight. Add fresh fruits, nuts, pure maple syrup, flaxseed meal etc. Stay full most of the day and the fiber benefits are on time and smooth.
