My family and I are following Maria's Nutritious and Delicious blog to get great recipes and low carb gluten free dessert and meal recipes. She recommends your brand of blanched almond flour. Used my first 25 lbs and made awesome gluten free desserts that weren't so high glycemic.

My diet against Ankylosing Spondylitis or arthritis of the spine does not allow regular flour. But this almond flour lets me eat baked goods again. Muffins with agave instead of sugar are habit forming. Got to bake a set two times a week. Absolutely delicious.

Yes, it comes in a blue plastic bag, but the quality of this product is just as great as the 5lb bag. This is the first time I buy the 25lb box and I am totally satisfied with it! It saves me a nice amount of money buying it by bulk, I love it!

This was my 1st purchase of the 25 lbs. box of almond flour. Previously, I only purchased the 5 lbs. bags because of the convience to just toss in the freezer.
I love the product. I love the savings.
Baked products are exceptional!
Shipment was prompt.
I will be sharing flour with family.
Cheers To Our Health!
Thanks.

I always buy 25 lb bag for my bakery. Trust me, many restaurant supply companies sell flour in a paper bag which is dragged across the pavement and thrown in the bottom of trucks and sometimes dragged through the mud. Plastic protects your flour. It's excellent quality. No bugs. Obviously once you recieve it you put it in a flour bin but if they shipped it that way it would add $30 minimum to your cost. I love this flour! And this price.

We are gluten free and have found almond flour is the kindest to our digestive systems verses rice, potato, teff, etc. In our search for the perfect GF flour, we have tried several almond flours based on price and taste. We've found that we prefer the taste of the Honeyville blanched almond flour, and the 25# box helps keep costs down a bit. We highly recommended it, especially to other GF people.

We are also a grain-free family, and have been buying almond flour in 25# bulk for several years. I was surprised by the simplicity of the packaging the first time, but have never had any issues with bugs or leakage. It is by far the most economical way to buy this excellent-quality flour!
We have bought the blanched as well as the natural flour over the years. My husband prefers the blanched because the final product (pancakes, breads, etc.) comes out looking more like it was made with regular white flour. The natural almond flour contains the brown "skins" of the almonds, and comes out looking more like a whole-wheat product. I can't tell much difference in the taste, but since my husband has a preference, we use the blanched flour.
I recommend it!

LOVE this flour. I have ordered the 25 lb bag several times and have never had any problems with the quality of the flour. I have never seen a bug or other foreign material in my flour even though it does not come packaged as the 5 lb bags do. I do have to admit that I was shocked the first time I ordered the 25lb size and it arrived in a thin blue trash bag. However, it is still just as fresh as when I ordered the 5 lb bags. The 25 lb bag is a far better deal, and it is now the only way I order this almond flour. I went to Target and bought two huge glass jars (2 gallons each) with airproof stainless steel lids that holds the entire 25 lb bag of flour and keeps it fresh for a very long time. Thank you, Honeyville, for making this almond flour so affordable!

I really don't understand the negative reviews of the 25lb bag. I used to purchase only the 5 lb bags but realized that I would save a bunch of money by purchasing the 25 lb instead. I'm SO GLAD I did! Yes, it does come in a big blue bag that isn't sealed. So what? I didn't have any problem with flour spilling out everywhere. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the flour. I don't agree that you're not getting the same product as you do when you order the 5 lb bag. I use this flour a LOT because we're grain free and I can see no difference between the 25lb and 5lb bags.
Possibly people are just a bit too hung up on the thought that everything has to be sealed and almost sterile or there must be something wrong with it. Maybe they even convince themselves that there's a difference because of the packaging. Whatever the reason, It's a shame that they would give negative reviews based mainly on packaging, especially when the product description tells you just how it's packaged. I for one am getting ready to place another order for the 25lb bag and will continue to do so. If people only knew the types of things that are "allowed by the government" to be in our food supply, all nicely packaged and sealed up, I don't think they'd find any reason to complain about this product.
Thanks so much for making this flour available in bulk!

I was very happy with my 5 lb blanched flour bags so I ordered the 25lb bag to save money. I like to buy in bulk when I can. The 25lb bag was a huge disappointment!!! Not only was the thin blue trash bag unsealed with flour spilled in the box but there were brown bits of "something" in the flour-which I never saw in the 5lb bags. Maybe it was almond skins, but maybe not. I don't know about you but I'm not comfortable serving food that arrives in an unsealed garbage bag to my family. I called Chris-director of e-commerce and finally received a refund after several emails and calls.

We use this as our primary flour and the lower cost of the 25# box made it an easy choice. Once we receive our 25# box we empty it into large tupper ware containers and have not had any issues with the product. The almond flour taste fresh and has worked well for all of our baking needs.

My wife is gluten intolerant Celiac sufferer. We did discover that almond flour agrees with her perfectly, as it contains no gluten. My wife is also a pre-diabetic, and we have found that almond flour or baked goods made with almond flour don't excessively raise her blood sugar like wheat or other flours. Pancakes made with almond flour are the bomb! (we use sugar free maple syrup from Walden Farms)
After going through several one pound bags of the Honeyville brand blanched almond flour, I decided to try a larger 25lb size of the same product to save money. This despite the negative comments below about the "blue trash bag".
We found the quality of the almond flour in the larger size 25lb box to be very excellent, and the same as the smaller sizes. We are picky too! The blue bag inside the 25lb box is a standard food grade poly plastic bag...not a trash bag! We break down the large box into many Zip Lock type bags we store in our extra refrigerator.
The box was shipped to us directly from the supplier, this company, Hughson Nut is right near the almond groves in the California central valley. If people want to see where their nut products come from, I took the bother of looking up this company on Google and found this YouTube video. Basically you are getting this larger size almond flour almost directly from the grove.

I am another customer who purchased a 5 pound bag of almond flour, was extremely happy with the product and decided to order the 25 pound bag. I was under the assumption that it would be the same product in a larger package. Even the picture looks the same. The 25 pound order came in a box (from a different company...NOT Honeyville) with a very thin, blue "garbage" type of bag that was not sealed. Flour was spilling out of the bag when we opened the box. I realize this may be standard industry packaging, but I would have much preferred the bag to be sealed. In the end, I did decide to keep the product, but I was, and still am, a bit uncomfortable with it.
Having said that, the product does seem to be a decent quality and I have no complaints about the product itself.
Just be aware if that you are NOT getting the same product that you get when you order the 5# package.

LOVE this stuff! I got the 25 lb box and vacuum packed it down into 'quart sized' bags and placed them in the freezer. I have a quart jar I keep in the refrigerator that I use for my everyday baking. It's so easy to refill my jar from a fresh, frozen packet now!
My kids at an entire batch of my Gluten Free, Banana/Blueberry muffins made with just almond flour!!! All 18 of them! I guess we all love this flour! Made excellent GF pancakes with it too. I also add a few tablespoons to my smoothies to give them a great taste and texture!

Disappointed with the 25 lb size

I have ordered the 5 lb size from Honeyville several times before, and it arrived in a resealable package. The 25 lb size arrived in what can best be described as an open blue trash bag. Moreover, and this is perhaps the most important bit, the flour tastes... off. It doesn't taste the same as the previous flour that I purchased from Honeyville. I have used that flour extensively for SCD baking and cooking, and it was awesome. I don't know how else to describe it, except perhaps that the things I've made with this large batch taste as though I had used the other flour and then added a bottle of almond flavoring. The previous flour I received from Honeville was pleasant and mild, and was able to adapt to savory dishes. This batch somehow makes everything taste ridiculously almondy, and now I have to figure out how to get over that for the next few months because 25 lbs is A LOT of almond flour when it tastes off.

Even if I were not gluten-intolerant I would ONLY use this unbelievably good flour. I made choc chip scones with this flour and they were out of this world! My daughter went crazy and ate them all up. The flavor and texture of this flour is wonderful and much healthier!!! I love this stuff!!!!

I first purchased a 5 lb. bag of Honeyville Almond Flour and thought it was amazing! The taste, texture and aroma are second to none! There is absolutely no comparison to other gluten-free flours - don't even waste your time and money on bad tasting, gritty rice/tapioca flours. Almond flour is worth every penny. My only disappointment in purchasing the 25 lb. box, was that I was expecting to receive it in a large, resealable bag (just like the 5 lb order). However, it came in a box, LOOSE in a thin, blue garbage type bag. It was not even sealed! And I was a bit skeptical because I saw bits of skin here and there which I did not see when I purchased the 5 lb. bag. Also, the box did not state Honeyville. The box listed Hughson Nut company. I did use the flour and it appears to be okay, but next time, I'd rather purchase (5) 5 lb bags rather than the 25 lb. box of loose flour.
