Whole family loves this
Pam (South Carolina) 7/16/2012 10:56 AM
I was a little skeptical about using a milk substitute and all the sugars that are in chocolate milk, but my grandchildren like to have chocolate milk as a treat. I decided to give this a try with the thought that I would mix it half chocolate milk substitute and half instant skim milk. This reduces the amount of calories and sugars per cup and increases the the protein. When I got my first can, I wasn't sure if doing this would make it to weak but I opened the cans and took a shot. We were all very pleasantly suprised. It was in no way to weak. It was still very chocolatey. In fact it makes me wonder if we would think it was to strong if we mixed it straight. Anyway, we mix it half and half then refrigerate until cold. The whole famiy loves it and so do all the neighborhood children that flock to the house when they know my grandchilden are having it.

This stuff is easy and great taste. i mix up a quart and have it in the fridge, when i have a sweet tooth, i just grab a small glass of it. it is thicker than milk, feels like i just let myself have a milkshake.

Kids Love It
Joe (Texas) 1/15/2012 11:24 PM
While I would not say this product tastes exactly like your average chocolate milk it certainly does not taste bad. In fact we opened a can and all three of my kids loved it. When the can was empty my kids where begging to open another can. Nutritionally speaking, you'll need more than just this drink to meet your daily needs, but such is the case with regular chocolate milk also. It does have more nutritional value than some other similar products out there, while not as much as some others, but for the price this seems to be a good deal.

Sorry, just awful
Chris (Colorado) 11/6/2011 8:53 PM
There is no way you could mistake this stuff for milk. Tastes like protein powder, but without the nutritional benefits. Yuck.

Retiree

This is a rich, full bodied chocolate milk better than any store bought product and more economical. I mix it up one quart at a time in a blender and pour it into a 2 quart pitcher. Make sure you stir it up before serving as it will settle.

Chocolate Milk Alternative
Sandra Linkletter (Iowa) 3/17/2010 8:16 PM
I found this to be better than store-bought chocolate milk, which in my experience is always slightly sour. I think maybe the dairies use their older milk for the making chocolate milk because they think the sweetness will cover the sour taste. Whatever the reason in fresh chocolate milk, this product isn't sour and the chocolate does cover the soy taste. We bought it in a 6-combo and think it is a good product. We won't be buying it again simply because we basically have no real need for chocolate milk in our life-style. I used most of the powder one teaspoonful at a time in my coffee.

This stuff is great
Nathan (IL) 8/17/2009 9:08 AM
Ok first off this does not taste like Slimfast at all!! It does not have any type of metalic taste to it like Slimfast. If I was going to say it tasted like something I'd say my kid sum it up best the call it cold hot coco. It is really rich and creamy like coco is. If you can find a store bought that better then this then please post it up here!! I have used just about every powdered add to milk chocolate and none have been as good as this.

This ain't no Yoo Hoo
Sandy (Georgia) 8/9/2009 10:05 AM
I admit that my decision to purchase was heavily influenced by the customer reviews which stated that this tasted like a Yoo Hoo. I love Yoo Hoo's. So I was thrilled with the idea of an inexpensive DIY version. However, this is no Yoo Hoo. When mixed, it's much thicker than even regular chocolate milk. In fact, out of pure childish curiosity, I found that I was able to float several pieces of plastic on top. Now that's thick. The taste isn't bad, but it's not ideal. Reminds me more of the premade canned SlimFast shakes than anything else. I'll try thinning it out next time instead of mixing per instructions, but I probably will not be repurchasing. I think I'd have better luck using a storebought chocolate mix in the instant white milk substitute instead.

Was surprised
Glenn (Tucson) 7/9/2009 2:35 PM
Got this and the regular milk variety, and like another reviewer said, tastes like a yoo-hoo. Found that its best made with a blender, or else you have tiny little pockets of powder balls floating on the top - yechh. Best made with good cold water, or poured over ice. Glenn in Tucosn

Taste like Yahoo drink
Peggy Sue (Louisiana) 3/30/2009 4:08 PM
No one said that this milk taste just like YAHOO drink. I love Yahoo but they cost so much. If I get one I have to get one for twin daughters. With this mix we add a 1/4 cup of mix to a 16 ounce bottle of water and shake shake shake. This is the greatest find ever. Now we can have a Yahoo when ever we want at a fraction of the cost. I don't think I will be able to keep these cans for hard times. I can't keep the girls away... me too... Always Peggy Sue

chocolate milk
Anonymous (Unknown) 3/25/2008 9:24 PM
The chocolate milk substitute is terrific! My little grandson loves it. It's rich enough that I can mix it with regular milk to stretch it even farther, and he still thinks it's a real treat! So much cheaper than buying regular milk!
