OK I'M REVISING MY REVIEW
makettle ( (Oregon)) 3/1/2013 1:13 PM
OK I'm revising my review because the more I use this in more ways the MORE I LOVE IT. I will be buying ALOT MORE of this because I find that there are so many MORE uses and ways I've been needing it and using it. Oh and did I mention it was versatile? I was clear out of ketchup and found that I needed it for my dish. I did not want to go clear down to the store. The thought popped into my head to try the tomato powder instead of the long trek out to the store. I would only do this if I trusted that it would be good in my dish, because I would not want to ruin our dinner tonight. I've been using it so much in our meals and found it to be such an addicting fresh true tomato flavor and it imparts such a rich color to the dish as to make our foods More appetizing Oh, so back to the ketchup that I experimentally made. I turns out It was ketchuplishious. Who woudda thought? I'm hooked. I don't think I can now live without this stuff.

It Just May Come In Handy
makettle (Oregon) 2/8/2013 2:12 PM
I bought Tomato Powder to try it. Made our Black Bean Chili with it. Not alone but mixed with tomato juice. It added a real nice flavor and body to the chili. My family really liked it but, we were surprised when we first opened the can and it was not much more than half-full. Kinda disappointing. That's why it's rated 4'*s

Fantastic product
Tomato Lover (CO) 9/17/2012 5:03 PM
I used to buy tomato sauce and paste by the case because we love the flavor of tomatoes...in everything! And then I read this article called, "The 7 Foods Experts Won't Eat" and found that my beloved tomatoes were #1! Excerpted from that article: The expert: Fredrick vom Saal, PhD, an endocrinologist at the University of Missouri who studies bisphenol-A The problem: The resin linings of tin cans contain bisphenol-A, a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to ailments ranging from reproductive problems to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Unfortunately, acidity (a prominent characteristic of tomatoes) causes BPA to leach into your food. Studies show that the BPA in most people's body exceeds the amount that suppresses sperm production or causes chromosomal damage to the eggs of animals. "You can get 50 mcg of BPA per liter out of a tomato can, and that's a level that is going to impact people, particularly the young," says vom Saal. "I won't go near canned tomatoes." In a big pot of soup I could easily use 3 or 4 cans of tomato products, so I immediately went on the hunt for something to replace what I was using when I found this tomato powder. While it likely has a BPA lining as well the tomato powder does not cause pitting of the liner like all sauces and tomatoes do. Have a look in the next can you open to see if the lining is pitted and you will understand. Anyway, I ordered a case based on the reviews and I am getting ready to order my second one (it lasts a long time!)... a quick review of the reviews said I should write one on this topic as no one else has. The best part is that it is healthier for my family and it tastes fantastic. I can use as much or as little as I want. It has a great flavor that will enhance whatever you are making. I highly recommend it!

Love this stuff. Use it all the time in making soups that ask for tomatos to add extra tomato flavor the canned tomatos just don't have. Also add it to regular store bought soups for extra flavor
